Isogenic enzyme controlled by the Vorta. Genetically addicted Jem'Hadar need a constant supply of "the white" to stay alive. Withdrawal prevents shrouding and leads to killing rampages.

    Equipment Equipment
    Special icons: Countdown 3
Where present, prevents "white deprivation". Counts down only if you have K.-White personnel present. (Your Vorta may "ration" just one Ketracel-White present to count down.)

    Requires: Vorta species.

    Rule hint for this card

    This card has an clarification:

This Equipment card prevents the White Deprivation incident from affecting K.-White personnel. It has a countdown icon Countdown 3 which counts down only if any K.-White personnel are present with the equipment (even if White Deprivation is not in play). If no K.-White personnel are present, all Ketracel- White cards stay at their current count. Unless rationed by a Vorta, all Ketracel-White cards present with any number of K.-White personnel count down at the end of each of your turns.

For example, three Ketracel-White cards will all count down at the end of your turn, whether you have one K.-White personnel present or ten. At the end of the countdown, a Ketracel-White card selfnullifies and is discarded.

Rationing: If your Vorta is present with multiple Ketracel-White cards and at least one K.-White personnel at the end of your turn, he may “ration” them so only one counts down. Select one card to count down (turn it 90 degrees).

The rest stay at their current count. You may select a different card each turn, leaving one countdown for each card “unused” so the card is not discarded. If you let any card count down for three turns, it self-nullifies and is discarded as usual.

Resetting: Primary Supply Depot and Remote Supply Depot both “reset” countdowns of Ketracel-White aboard. You must carry or beam unexpired cards from your ship to the outpost to reset the countdowns. While aboard the outpost, they count down normally at the end of your turn (if a K.-White personnel is present) but immediately reset.

    Ketracel-White

Here's a card you don't so much choose to put in your deck... you must have it. White deprivation will kill off your Jem'Hadar personnel as surely as your opponent's nastiest strategy. And yet, the Jem'Hadar possess some skills that are virtually impossible to find on any other Dominion personnel. So unless Non-Aligned (Alpha Quadrant) personnel or Treaties are a part of your strategy, you'll need a steady supply of Ketracel-White.

The countdown of 3 is just enough to accomplish quite a bit. You can move out, attack an opponent, and make it back to your outpost with a turn to spare. You can fly through the Bajoran Wormholeimage and still have time to construct a Remote Supply Depotimage. If you're planning an extended trip away from your facility, though, a Vorta is absolutely necessary. Without one present to "ration" the supply of White, your Jem'Hadar will consume all of it simultaneously, bringing the threat of deprivation that much more quickly.

Keeping your Jem'Hadar in White may seem like a lot of trouble, but as a reward you get their incredibly high STRENGTH (and often, INTEGRITY). Augmented with one or two Jem'Hadar hand weapons, there are likely to stun or even mortally wound any adversary in a personnel battle.

    Combos:

    • Ketracel-White + Gurat'urakimage: Help keep your opponent's Disruptor Overloadimages from depleting your supply of White even faster.
    • Ketracel-White + Manheim's Dimensional Doorimage: Take advantage of a Dominion opponent by having your own Ketracel-White card in hand. Every time they play one, you can "hiccup" it and play a free card of your own.
