    Quark's Bar

This Card-Review article was written by Neil Kirby and was published first on "Decipher's Website (decipher.com)" at Jan 14th, 2000.

This place is humming! Conveniently situated on DS9/Deep Space 9 / Terok Nor, Quark’s Bar is the place where all the action goes on. Feel like a game of Dabo? Go to Quark's and wager your discard pile. Want to stop your opponent from playing Interrupts on your turn? Exploit your Bar waiters with the 211th Rule of Acquisition. A few points short of a full win? Get your Acquisition personnel to use HQ: Ferengi Credit Exchange to trade some Latinum. Nagus feeling lonely? Have him call a Ferengi conference there to download some CIVILIAN company (or decent service at least). It all goes on at the bar - just ask Quark....

The best thing about it, is that it doesn't matter who runs DS9/Terok Nor - with Quark's Bar in place you can report your Ferengi there, download your bar staff, and dock your ships freely. With all the ways Ferengi can report for free, your opponent's DS9/Terok Nor will feel like it's been invaded by tribbles, and all those waiters will act as a big disincentive to go and initiate a bar brawl - discarding 2 cards for a dead waiter or dabo girl bites. And if he turns his back for a moment he'll find his DS9 suddenly turned a funny shade of orange...

So for a good time, any Ferengi player should stock a copy of Quark's Bar. Quark's - where everybody knows your name! Well, they'll call you something, anyway :-).

    Combos:

    • Quark's Bar + your DS9: Prevent your Cardassian opponent from playing Terok Nor and set up your Bar where you want it. Remember, the Federation tip better.
    • Quark's Bar + your opponent's DS9/Terok Nor + your Frools: Give your opponent a headache by reporting your waiters free to the Bar, where they'll be relatively safe from harm. Then send them to block sites, shop in the Promenade, or use the 47th Rule of Acquisition with Frool to dispatch their multi-skilled personnel back to their draw deck. Your opponent will soon know how Odo feels about Ferengi.
    • Quark's Bar + Morn + Cargo Bay: Download Morn to the Cargo Bay and let him take a short stroll to the Bar where his seat is waiting for him to draw extra cards and chatter away.
